A community mural in Kibbutz Yagur in northern Israel.

The mural was created on the wall of a home for lone soldiers in the kibbutz, and features a smiling, life filled woman alongside a chrysanthemum flower - a common flower in Israel that symbolizes innocence, loyalty, and the ability to keep a secret, values that many lone soldiers can relate to.

In the background appears a mountain and a sunset, representing the landscape of Yagur and creating the connection to place.

The elements were chosen with the intention of creating a sense of home, belonging, and integration in the country for the soldiers - some of whom are new immigrants, and others who are Israeli but without family support.

The mural was created as part of the “Tzovi׳im Atid” initiative – a joint project between the nonprofit organization "Social Eyes” and myself, through which we create community mural projects in places directly affected by the war, funded by the “Shachar” project of the “Shaharit” Institute and the “FNL”. The mural was painted together with volunteers from Strauss Group.

Childhood

A community mural in Kibbutz Nahal Oz, in the Gaza Envelope.

The mural was created on the wall of the kibbutz clubhouse for grades 1–6, and features a cat with an abstract background. These elements were chosen to give the children space for imagination, freedom and play, and to create a renewed sense of home - after a long period in which families were evacuated from the kibbutz and have only recently returned, as part of a process of healing and recovery following the horrific events of October 7th.

Looking Forward

A community mural at the Jordan Valley Community Center, created in honor of the national Day of Appreciation for IDF wounded soldiers and victims of terror attacks.
The mural was created through a collaborative process with participants, seeking to express hope and healing from physical and emotional pain, through an optimistic vision and the desire to rise and move forward. Following a shared discussion on what hope means to us, common elements emerged and shaped the mural: the kite as a symbol of freedom and aspiration, the sun representing light and life, and Mount Sartaba symbolizing strength and resilience. The warm color palette and elements from the local landscape, such as date palm fronds, emphasize the connection to place.

The mural reflects the understanding that hope and healing are found within everyday life and the familiar landscape around us. This message is permanently inscribed on the wall of the community center, serving the diverse communities of the Jordan Valley.

The project was created together with veteran women of the Jordan Valley and participants of the Liel Pre-Military Academy, Class of 2026.

why do i Work with Communities?

because I love people, I love art, and I love showing people that art isn’t a luxury - it’s essential. Street art gave me a way into the world of art, It taught me that I can influence the public space, turn pain to color and bring beauty to where it’s needed.

i learned that i can and open that door the people around me.

Between the ages of 18 and 30, I lived in a community that brought together people around art, education, and social change. it gave me the tools to use art to open hearts, connect between people, and shift the atmosphere of a place. Since then, I’ve been working with groups of all ages, and what drives me is watching people enter a creative process, discover new abilities, connect with others they never expected to connect with, and leave their mark in the place they live.

When I approach a mural project, I always begin by listening - understanding who the people are, what matters to them, and what kind of space they want to create for themselves. From this creative thought process, a sketch is born - one that feels “theirs”, that tells the local story they want to tell.

participants take part in the entire process: they share ideas, help shape the direction, and on the painting day, we create the mural together. Through this process they try something new, discover abilities that maybe they didn׳t know they had, and learn how to work together towards a shared goal.

The mural that stays on the wall is theirs, They know what they painted, how they influenced it, and how it all came together. It strengthens responsibility, connection, and belonging, and making impacting their public space something possible.
